We all know just how important a good breakfast is to starting off right and maintaining energy throughout the day. Here are 5 market inspired breakfasts for you to try!
Chia pudding with berries- delicious, versatile and surprisingly powerful! Chia seeds are TINY but pack a big nutrient punch and this pudding will keep you going from, breakfast to lunch no problem. Simply mix 2 tbsp of chia seeds in a mason jar with 1c of milk or alternative milk (we like a half cashew half coconut mix!), a tsp of vanilla and shake it up! Set in the fridge overnight and serve with your favourite market berries.
Apple “Donuts”-
Easiest breakfast ever. Slice your market apples into rounds, and top with your fave nut butter, and whatever else you have on hand! Try shredded coconut, honey from Buzzy Bee and chocolate chips from Kin&Pod if you need an extra fast energy kick.Mushroom Toast- bread+mushrooms. Need we say more? Grab your favourite seed, sourdough or simple loaf from Prairie Mill, sautee up some mushrooms from Pennybun’s in butter, garlic and thyme, and top your toast!
Market McMuffin- For when you have a little more time, and need a hearty helping, fry up a local egg, stick it on a toasted english muffin and top with some extra market produce- try classic tomato and lettuce, or get creative with grilled zucchinis and shrooms.
Toasted Tomato Sandwich-
This one is for the tomato lovers! Grab an heirloom slicing tomato from The GardeNerds YYC, sandwich it between slices of great sourdough, and simply top with some flake salt and pepper. If you’ve got some of that YYC Growers Basil salt, best use that here!
