We strive to bring to the community a source of good quality, flavourful food and goods produced by local farmers, food creators and artisans.
As an Alberta Approved Market we are commited to ensuring that at least 80% of our vendors sell products which they, a family member, a staff member or a member of a producer-owned cooperative have made, baked or grown. Many of our farmers operate small family farms that use traditional methods but have decided not to obtain organic certification due to limiting factors like cost. We encourage you to ask all vendors about their growing and production methods when you visit the market!
A gathering space for the community & a destination beyond just food.
Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers' Market is rooted in community. We not only support local farmers and artisans, but also open our market to like-minded, not-for-profit groups, offer opportunities for musicians to busk at the market each week, support our vendors by offering space for CSA pick-ups, and facilitate activities for children!
As an Alberta Approved Farmers' Market, we favour vendors who make, bake or grow the products they are selling. Vendors selling local and organic products, whether certified or not, will be prioritized. The sale of used or flea items is prohibited
Are you interested in vending at the market this season? We are currently accepting applications for the 2017 Outdoor Farmers' Market!
The Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers' Market is an initiative of the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association, and as such, is largely dependent on the kindness and generosity of our volunteer base.
If you want to help make our farmers' market the best in the city and have the time and energy to do so, we'd love to hear from you!
